I just looked up the price of Aperture, which is Apple’s software for photograph manipulation and adjustment.
On their US store, the cost of the product is $299.00 while on the Irish website, it costs €319.00. This converts to $459.02 at the moment. This makes this product 53% more expensive here in Ireland than it is in the US.
What the hell is that about? Apple need to stop doing this kind of thing if they want to retain their following. When I see things like that, I begin to forget why I like Apple.

Follow-up comment rss or Leave a TrackbackThat is outrageous. Apple are the bad guys of the OS world. Microsoft would never do that, or in fact do anything unfair whatsoever. I wonder what it would be like if Leopard and Vista had a baby… *draws out punnett square * 9:3:3:1… riiight…
You would only get the 9:3:3:1 ratio for complete linkage disequilibrium and as far as I know Microsoft own some of Apple, so perhaps this could constitute linkage and therefore the ratios might get skewed?
Oh, Gawd, I got to stop.
I am not sure whether this is just Apple’s fault. Aperture was already 300 euros (at least in the spanish store) a year ago. At that time euro and dollar were only 1:1.2 or something like that. And I believe the difference had to do with larger taxes, such as V.A.T. Aperture has not increased its prize in Europe, rather dollar value has decreased. You should check the education discount. It is worth on Aperture, 199 euros instead of 300 euros in the spanish store. I hope it is the same in Ireland!
cheers Inaki, had completely forgotten the education discount.
