Britney Spears is back in hospital after a stand-off between herself and the police when she barricaded herself into her house and refused to let her children go back to their dad, Kevin Federline.

Britney appears to have been taken to hospital in an ambulance while still smiling and was reported to have been under the influence of an ‘unknown substance’.

This has reminded me of an article I blogged about in September on the elevated rate of early death among rock and pop stars.

Bottom line right now is that Britney is well on track to follow Anna Nicole Smith, while we all look on with our mouths open.
