Was watching Questions and Answers last night and one thing came across stronger than ever.
Declan Ganley rabbits on about there being an elite in Brussels and they don’t listen to the people. However, the truth is that the politicians in Brussels have to listen to the people, otherwise they don’t get elected. They only got their jobs in the first place because they went around their respective constituencies asking people to vote for them and describing their political platform.
Ganley, by contrast has never been elected and recently he was widely photographed bringing his elite friends to dinner in Ireland’s most elite hotel (the Shelbourne) in the most elite address in Ireland (St. Stephen’s Green).
And he has never been elected.
Isn’t it strange when the unelected elitist points the finger at others and calls them ‘the elite’.
In fact, for the first 40 years of his life, Ganley seems to have only had one master and that was money and ways in which to make it. Now for some unexplained reason (though, I have a clear explanation in my own mind), this millionaire seems extraordinarily concerned with Ireland and the welfare of the Irish people. Strange it took so long for him to see the light.
I wonder what his ex-military buddies in Rivada Networks think of all this? Are they happy with their leader going off to fight European elections when he could be working on making more millions for the company? Or maybe he is still working on ways of making millions and millions more money for Rivada.
Irony anybody?
