Mickey Rourke didn’t win the Oscar for best actor, it was won by Sean Penn.  This must mean that Sean Penn’s performance is incredible.  I really thought that Mickey Rourke was excellent in The Wrestler.  All the time I was watching it, I was thinking “Is this really  the same actor from Angel Heart?”  Anyway, Slumdog Millionaire was the closest that the Irish got to an award.  Danny Boyle’s mother is from Ballinasloe, so naturally, just like Barack Obama, we’ll quietly claim those plaudits.

Onto another movie, I saw the film Garage at the weekend and it is absolutely brilliant. Pat Shortt is really, really good in the role and I can see why this film got lots of awards.
