Well, I am sitting in my hotel room after a lot of travelling this week.  I was in Bochum in Germany at the start of the week for VAAM 2009 and then home for a day-and-a-half before leaving to come to Rio de Janeiro to speak at a symposium yesterday in the Universidade Federal Rural do Rio de Janeiro (UFRRJ).  Felt particularly unwell during my seminar, mostly due to fatigue, stress and the fact that I am on medication for a chest infection.  However, the crazy driver that brought me to the seminar was no help either.

I have photographed what I think was the visual highlight of the trip so far - the sun going down just as I flew over the equator.  The sky was really red and it all looked particularly cool.

Today, Saturday, I am catching up on my emails (more than 130) and trying to respond to people who are looking for stuff.  If you are reading this and wondering why I have not gotten back to you, it is because of the reasons outlined above.  I hope to get to you soon.
