New British and Irish Lions captain: Paul O’Connell.

This is a well-deserved role for O’Connell.  He has been tremendous for Ireland and Munster and was obviously completely exhausted after the 2007-2008 season.  However, for the 2008/2009 season he has once again come back and been a great driver, a great Munster captain and a great Ireland pack leader.  An honour that is well-deserved.
